Annapolis Highland Vineyards invites Nova Scotian artists to enter their artwork into a contest for their winery’s 2010 vintage label designs.
The winning works of art will be reproduced on the labels of Annapolis Highlands’ wines. Each variety of wine will have a different work of art on its label so there will be at least six winners of this contest.
All entries must be received before December 1, 2010.
The winning artwork will be displayed on Annapolis Highlands’ 2010 vintage labels which will be released in 2011. The timing of the contest is important as 2011 will be the 400th anniversary of grape vines being planted in North America.
The first vines were planted in the Bear River area where Annapolis Highland Vineyards is located. This will be a great way to celebrate this special anniversary by partnering their wines with the Nova Scotia artist communities.
Artists interested in entering the contest are encouraged to contact Karen Enright at (902) 467-0917, or email@example.com for further details.
Annapolis Highland Vineyards is a boutique winery located in Bear River East, Nova Scotia, and has won six medals, including four from the 2010 All Canadian Wine Competition, since opening its doors in June, 2009.
The majority of wine bottle labels measure 4 7/8″ x 3″ with the longer measurement being vertical. Our White Wedding dessert wine is in a smaller bottle and the label measures 4″ x 2.25″ with the longer measurement also being vertical.
There will be no limit on the pieces of artwork that may be submitted and the best way would be to send us an image of each submission electronically.
For those who are interested, the current names of our wine are: Pinot Gris, Geiseinheim Riesling, DeChaunac, Highland Blue, White Wedding and Highland Triskele. We will also be launching two new wines this September ….. a cranberry wine and a cranberry/riesling blush. Both are currently unnamed and we may or may not be producing those again next year depending on how well they sell this year.
Although there will be no monetary prize for this competition, we feel the publicity that will be received will provide excellent exposure for the winning works and artists. As well, each winning artist will receive one case of wine with their winning labels which will have an approximate value of $240.
Attached is an application form which should be completed and e-mailed or faxed to Karen Enright, Annapolis Highland Vineyards at 902-467-0468. Also attached is a very short lists of terms and conditions.
