The Bear River Farmers’ Market is back in business on Sunday afternoons until September.
Ken Flett, market organizer, said about 16 vendors from as far away as Meteghan set up shop for the grand re-opening of the market on May 22. Flett said he’s looking forward to its second season, and that this community market has a warm and enjoyable atmosphere.
“It’s just a nice place to come and be,” he said. “Even if you don’t sell anything, it’s still a great time.”
While some of last year’s vendors have returned, a few new ones have joined. Shoppers can find the basic necessities such as fresh produce, delicious baked breads and sweets, plenty of plants, and lavender products.
But the Bear River Farmers’ Market has its own beatniky vibe where shoppers can find food for the soul. A number of vendors specialize in fine art, crafts, jewelry, clothing, and there’s even a psychic who will put us in touch with angels.
Kids will enjoy face painting, music, and plenty of smiles to go around. The Bear River Farmers’ Market takes place on the waterfront in Bear River Sundays from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is free, table rentals are $10. For info contact Ken Flett email@example.com or 467 0469
